Moat Garden opened for business and we'll be there to help!

As every year during the month of August, the Governor of the Castle graciously allows his personal garden, the Moat Garden, to be opened to the general public.

This special opening only occurs during the weekends (Fridays and Bank holiday included) and for a £2 entrance fee, visitors can enjoy a green oasis within the castle walls.

The money raised is donated to local Windsor charities and the marshalls are all volunteers from local organisations.

Several members of the Rotary Club of Windsor St George will man the Moat Garden this summer, so if you're planning on visiting the castle, don't hesitate to come by and say hello. We'll be happy to tell you more about the Moat Garden while you're there.

Bell-ringing at Dorney

Phil bell ringing
On Monday 29 July, members and friends visited the church of St James The Less in Dorney. During the visit we learned about the history of the church, its connections with Dorney Court and St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle (ie. some magnificent stained glass windows!).
On the night, the bell-ringing team was practising on site so not only were we introduced to the art of bell-ringing across the centuries but we were also invited to see the team - and the bells - in action.
The evening finished at the local pub with a well-deserved meal. Thank you to Richard for organising this cultural outing in our local area!

Having fun at the Windsor Summer Fayre

On 29 June, a gloriously sunny day, we ran a stall at the Windsor Summer Fayre. Just as for the last few years, the "throw a teddy bear" game was a favourite of the families attending. A new game introduced by Chris this year, the American Corn Hole, also proved to be very popular.
We met lots of great people, had lots of fun and raised over £100 for The Rotary Foundation!
