Past Rotary International Director Allan Jagger honoured the Stabbins family on Tuesday with Paul Harris Fellow Awards to Adrian Stabbins, Past President of Rotary Club Windsor & Eton, his wife Veronica and their son Richard. The awards were presented on their behalf by Past District Governor Judith Diment at a meeting of Windsor St George Rotary Club at the Manor Hotel in Datchet.

Allan said “Rose and I are delighted to provide the recognition points enabling your club to recognise the outstanding contribution to Rotary’s ideals by making Adrian, Veronica and Richard Stabbins Paul Harris Fellows.  As Rotary International Director representing RIBI I was well aware of Adrian’s voluntary work as a Dental Surgeon and also for his inspirational leadership of Windsor & Eton club when President.

His work on Mercy Ships, Polio National Immunisation Days (NID) in India and his Polio advocacy work was made so much more rewarding having such a supportive wife in Veronica who accompanied him on all the overseas trips as well as giving support locally. The Stabbins family are living testimony for what Rotary really is, an organisation that brings people together.  What better proof of how effective Rotary is when we have a family working together.  Richard was inspired to support his parents and Rotary’s number one goal, the eradication of polio and he has raised over £25,000 for polio to date. His fund raising activities for charity has raised in total over £60,000  including running the London Marathon six times and a five day canoe trip from the source of the Thames to Westminster. He participated in NID  in India in 2014 and will do so again with his parents in February 2016.”
